“what do you do?” being in rooms full of people
and still feeling unseen? wanting more from your social life, and
not knowing where to find it? conversations that go longer than planned? shared experiences that turn strangers
into connections? a reason to believe the right people
are still out there? the right place
Three years ago, we found something we didn’t know we were looking for: real community, unexpected friendships, and the kind of conversations that stay with you.
It happened because we kept an open mind, said yes to unfamiliar things, and stepped a little outside our comfort zone. That’s why we created The Right Place.
We’re building the kind of gatherings we always wished existed: small, thoughtful events for people who are curious, open, and tired of surface-level socializing.
We read every RSVP ourselves, so come as yourself. No performance, no pressure, just people, being people, in the same room.
Because with the right people, anywhere can be the right place.
you bring a dish. we’ll bring the people.
Why show up to a first event from people you’ve never met?
We read every RSVP ourselves
No algorithm, no auto-approve. If you're coming, we already know a little about you. Our goal isn't to fill the space — it's to bring together people who might actually click.
Hosted, not just organized
We're in the room the whole night, not standing behind a clipboard. We're always around to introduce people, set the tone, and make sure the room feels good.
This is the start, not a one-off
Kuala Lumpur is where we're starting, but there's a lot more coming. If you're here now, you're part of the first chapter.

-
A place for curiosity, connection, and a little bit of serendipity.
Our gatherings are designed to make unexpected connections a little more likely.
We bring curious, open-minded people together to try something new, have conversations they might not normally have, and meet people they wouldn’t have crossed paths with otherwise.
There’s no promise of who you’ll meet or what will happen, and that’s kind of the point. We create the setting, bring the right mix of people together, and leave room for things to unfold naturally.
-
Our gatherings are application-based, and every guest list is thoughtfully curated.
We’re looking for people who are curious, thoughtful, open-minded, up for trying new things, and interested in conversations that go a little beyond small talk
That’s why everyone starts with a short application. We read each one ourselves and use it to put together groups that feel interesting, welcoming, and intentional.
The goal isn’t to fill the room. It’s to create a room you’re actually excited to be in.
-
It depends on the gathering, but most of our events are designed for people between 25 - 39. Each guest list is curated individually, so if it feels like a right fit, we’ll reserve your spot!

All kinds! You'll meet introverts, extroverts, people who just moved to the city, people who have lived here for years, creatives, travelers, homebodies, and people who simply feel like their world could use a few more interesting people in it.
They won’t all have the same backgrounds, personalities, or interests. What they tend to share is curiosity, openness, kindness, and a desire for genuine connection.
We curate these events so that you can meet people you wouldn’t have crossed paths with in your daily routine, and maybe discover that you have more in common than you expected.
-
Come as you are, and come curious.
Every gathering is a little different, but we’ll always create enough structure to make meeting people feel easy.
Depending on the event, that might mean shared experiences, conversation prompts, smaller groups, or little moments designed to get people talking.
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room or be an extrovert to enjoy our gatherings. Just show up open to the possibility that you might have a really good time with people you didn’t know a few hours ago.

Absolutely come alone. In fact, most people do.
Showing up somewhere new by yourself can feel a little intimidating, but everyone is coming for a similar reason: to meet people they don't already know.
We’ll be there to make introductions and help you connect with different people throughout the gathering.
You’re welcome to come with a friend too, but we’d just encourage you both to branch out once you’re there. You never know who you might meet.
